Creating the Perfect Black and White Portrait in Photoshop Elements 12 | Brendan’s Adventures

We’ve been spoiled quite a bit so far here in Jordan. Though we have been insanely busy, we’ve definitely had the chance to taste the finer things in life. On of the really nice things we had done here, was a date night. As you might guess, being a travel writing couple, we spend almost every minute with each other. However, Tiffany and I often forget that a date night is necessary from time to time. Moreover, a date night doesn’t mean sitting side-by-side working on our laptops. Thus, I can’t say enough how much we appreciated the people here in Aqaba setting us up on a 5-star date, which included getting Tiffany all dressed up.

It also gave me the chance to shoot a couple images with a pretty fine model. I figured, as well, that it would make for a good chance to show you how to create a cool black and white portrait using Photoshop Elements 12.

How to Create a Holiday-Inspired Animated GIF Using Stop Motion Photography – Tuts+ Tutorials

Introduced in 1987 by CompuServe, the animated GIF is as popular today as it has ever been. The GIF animation has gone through many phases over the years. It\’s been loved, hated, and then loved again. Today, I think the GIF animation has found its place as a useful way to distribute short and fun animations online. Recently, I was inspired by a GIF that I saw on Twitter and thought the concept would make a fun tutorial. I got together with our Photography Editor at Tuts+ to organize a cross-site tutorial that shows how to shoot stop-motion photography and then assemble those photos into an animated GIF in Photoshop. In this tutorial, we will show you how to use Photoshop to quickly assemble the photos we shot in the photography part of this tutorial, and create our animation. Let\’s get started!
